Chargers News: LA's Odds Of Landing Bill Belichick Just Got A Whole Lot Slimmer

The Bolts have had an interest in Belichick for a long time.

The Los Angeles Chargers have been trying to swim in the deep end of the pool when it comes to their head coaching search. They've been linked with some of the bigger names on the market, and seem determined to make a big splash this offseason.

One name that has been connected with them for a long time now is former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. Belichick is regarded as the best coach in NFL history, and he would be a game-changer if he landed with Los Angeles.

However, it seems that Belichick may be heading elsewhere. He has a second interview scheduled with the Atlanta Falcons, and that interest remains high for them to land him.

Most often when a coach meets with a team a second time, there is real interest in getting a deal done. This could spell bad news for the Chargers with the legendary head coach.

The Bolts would hate to miss out on Belichick, but they do have other options. The odds of them landing him have significantly lower with this news, and they may be looking elsewhere.

The team has been linked with University of Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh as well. Harbaugh coached the San Francisco 49ers back in 2014 and could be looking to jump back into the NFL ranks.

With quarterback Justin Herbert in the mix, the Bolts have to take advantage of this time. They can't afford another wasted season, so landing the correct head coach is of the utmost importance. 

Both Belichick and Harbaugh are top-tier coaches, and the Bolts are doing their best to land one. Either of them would help this team move forward in their win-now window.
