The Los Angeles Chargers got a much-needed win over the weekend against the Minnesota Vikings but lost a key piece to the team during the game. Star wide receiver Mike Williams suffered an injury during the game, and it has now been revealed as a torn ACL.

He will miss the rest of the season, which is a massive blow to a Chargers team with possible Super Bowl aspirations. Williams was carted off the field during the game against the Vikings, and now the worst possible fears of the team have been realized.

Williams had grown into a real offensive threat for the Bolts over the last few years due to his ability to help them spread the field. He was a big reason why the Chargers won on Sunday before he left the game, posting seven catches for 121 yards and a score.

He and quarterback Justin Herbert had established some excellent chemistry over time, and this was supposed to be another breakout year for him. However, fate unfortunately had other ideas, and this is another in a long line of significant injuries to the Bolts.

With the team losing Williams, they must rely on guys like Keenan Allen, Joshua Palmer, and rookie Quentin Johnson going forward. Johnson has seen his snaps limited throughout his rookie year, but with this injury, he may be looked upon to produce.

The Bolts may also look to sign a replacement for Williams, but that remains to be seen at this point.

The team earned a big win to improve their record to 1-2, but this injury to Williams will be felt for the rest of the season. They already had some issues on offense, which may continue with him out of the lineup.
