One of the few positives from this season...

The 2023 NFL season hasn't quite gone the way that anyone would have hoped within your Los Angeles Chargers.

The franchise currently sits with a record of 5-8 on the season, and the Bolts' playoff hopes have all basically been cut off.

This team entered the season feeling confident that they could turn things around, but it has gotten worse each passing week. The Bolts know that they let multiple opportunities waste away this season, and they will have to live with that fact.

But if there is any silver lining from this poor season, it's that they should be in line for a solid first-round draft pick. Like any bad team, the Chargers can improve through the draft, and they desperately need help in multiple areas.

"The Chargers fell to 5-8 after losing to the Broncos. After the loss, Los Angeles is projected to have the No. 10 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft. This comes a week after being slotted to have the 12th pick."

Getting a top-10 pick after the tough season that they just put together would be a consolation prize for this Chargers team. They could look to add to their offensive line or even on the defensive side of the ball.

LA has options in this upcoming NFL Draft, and the likelihood of them holding a top pick is high. They have a fairly tough schedule left to go, with games against the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs.

Plus, without the services of starting quarterback Justin Herbert, it adds to the likelihood of a high draft pick. Fans normally wouldn't root against their own team to lose, but in this case, it's what is best for the future of the team.
