The Chargers enter the season with some of the highest expectations around the NFL. They want to build off their playoff appearance from last season and make a potential run toward a Super Bowl. The Bolts have one of the strongest offensives in the league with the weapons they have to use. Led by star quarterback Justin Herbert, the Chargers should once again have a top offense across the NFL.

But there is one part of the Bolts roster that consistently gets overlooked for some reason: the offensive line. The Chargers enter the season having the deepest and most talented lines in the league, but they always are an afterthought with this team due to its star power.

Chargers insider Daniel Popper of The Athletic likes where the team is in terms of the offensive line and thinks they have good depth.

"This is the best and deepest offensive line group the Chargers have built since I started covering the team in 2019. Jamaree Salyer’s flexibility is a big reason why. Salyer will begin the season as the starting right guard. But he proved last season that he can provide stability at either tackle spot if the Chargers have to deal with an injury to Rashawn Slater or Trey Pipkins III. The Chargers have three capable tackles. Most teams struggle to find two. The quality of the depth starts there."

Per The Athletic

LA has built their offensive line with Herbert in mind. They know their best chances for success rely on him staying upright, so they have put money and resources into building a solid line to protect him as the games go on. It's one of the more crucial parts of building a football team but one that doesn't get nearly the credit it deserves.

"Heading into camp, I also like the competition Staley has created at the guard spots. Among Zack Bailey, Brenden Jaimes and rookie Jordan McFadden, the Chargers will have a genuine battle for the swing guard spot, backing up Zion Johnson and Salyer. I will be watching all three of those linemen closely during camp."

Per The Athletic

If the line stays healthy and keeps their quarterback upright, the Chargers will likely see a ton of success this coming season. They arguably are the most important part of this team and should be seen as one of the major x-factors as training camp gets underway here soon.
