Chargers OC Kellen Moore Sees Run Game Advancing Well

Will Moore's bread and butter continue to work in LA?

The Los Angeles Chargers are ready to make some noise, and although some concerns focused on the defensive side of the ball, the offense also has a ton to prove.

Did their lack of success or ceiling have to do with their former offensive coordinator, Joe Lombardi? We'll find out soon enough under new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore. Moore was brought in to take the LA offense over the top, and all reports indicate that will happen. It's not a surefire thing, but we hope it works out we're better.

Many people believe it'll happen, including Moore, who specifically talked about his run game and how he loves where it's at, and it'll only get better as the season progresses in LA.

“It’s heading where it needs to be for the regular season,” Moore said, via Juliette Jones. “You certainly have certain concepts you feel really comfortable with – those are gonna be our kinda bread-and-butter concepts.”

As the offensive coordinator with the Dallas Cowboys, Moore led them to the number seven rushing offense in four seasons with an average of 126.6 yards per game. Last season, the Bolts were ranked 30th in rush yards per game with 88.4. That's not where you want to be, especially with a guy like star RB Austin Ekeler.

That number is brutal, and Moore and the rest of the guys will make sure that doesn't happen again.

That can't happen again, with Ekeler at the helm and solid backups like Joshua Kelly, Isaiah Spiller, and possibly Elijah Dotson to carry the load whenever Ekeler isn't out there.

We'll all watch Moore's offense and how the players translate it.
