In this story:

Immediately in the weeks following after the 2023 NFL Draft, it seemed like everybody finally realized who Quentin Johnston was and realized why the Los Angeles Chargers opted to select him with their 21st pick. Do not let the video of the silent crowd reaction to his name called... he is looking like the real deal.

Whether it was the promise to his mom that she could retire now that he's in the NFL or his immense love for the Los Angeles Lakers, the fanbase immediately warmed up to him after he joined the franchise. Beyond just football skills, he displayed a level of maturity and respect that LA's own front office said reminded them of Mike Williams.

But the football talent is 100% there too. Johnston was the first of a slew of players from TCU that the Bolts bet on this draft. There will be roles for them if they earn them and with Johnston specifically, LA's scouts had been keeping tabs on him for quite some time.

However, some of the biggest knocks on Johnston's game heading into the draft were that he gets dinged up a bit more than you would want a WR to and also cannot catch with his hands at times.

LA must've read those reports and laughed because they still drafted him and in OTA's thus far, it almost looks like he's on a mission to prove that all of that was a lie. The Chargers' Twitter keeps all receipts and their most recent pokes fun at the same experts that said that about their rookie.

"bUt hE dOeSn'T cAtCh WiTh HiS hAnDs"

Chargers fans got an amazing laugh out of that one. Never change Twitter... never change.
