Chargers Rookie Receiver Seeks Redemption in New Home Stadium

Out here looking for revenge.

After suffering a brutal loss to the Georgia Bulldogs in his final collegiate game, there's only one thing two of the newest Charger receivers have in mind. 

One of these two receivers, Derius Davis, formerly of the TCU Horned Frogs, mentioned a golden opportunity to right some wrongs in the same place where his NCAA season ended.

Upon hearing his name called by the Chargers in the fourth round of this year's draft, Davis wanted another chance to show what he could do at SoFi Stadium. 

After a thrilling victory in the semifinal against Michigan, thanks in part to his fellow Horned Frogs and now LA teammate Quentin Johnston, TCU moved on to face Georgia as a massive underdog. 

Though it was tough sledding for the Horned Frogs, especially Johnston, who only had one catch for three yards, Davis showed out on the biggest stage to the Los Angeles crowd. 

The 5'8 pass catcher was Max Duggan's top target on an otherwise dismal night for the school as Davis went for five catches and 101 yards, including a 60-yard bomb as the top offensive play of the night for TCU. 

Both Johnston and Davis will have a chance to play a significant role in helping the Chargers impress the LA crowds, even if their first crack at doing so while still in school didn't go to plan. 

Davis is poised for a big role in the preseason as the receiver depth chart is wide open for anyone to grab behind Johnston and veterans Mike Williams and Keenan Allen. 

With such determination already on display, it sounds like Davis has a pretty good shot to be that for LA, and the speedy wide receiver will have plenty of chances to impress his new team before August is over.
