The running back position seems to go extinct slowly, thanks to where the game of football is heading and how stingy certain owners are.

The position is still important, even though it may not seem like it at the moment. Believe it or not, running backs are still getting paid, and that's the case with former Chargers first-round draft pick and Pro Bowler Melvin Gordon.

Gordon signed a one-year deal worth up to $3.1 million with the Baltimore Ravens.

Gordon will now join one of the best divisions in football and a running back room that is filled to the brim.

The 30-year-old spent the first five seasons of his career with the San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers before spending the last three with the Denver Broncos.

Gordon was among the best at his position as a Charger, earning himself two Pro Bowl appearances and rushing for 4240 rushing yards and 69 touchdowns in 67 games as a Bolt.

However, he hasn't been the same since leaving the Chargers and has struggled to find his footing.

The Broncos waived him in the middle of last season due to his fumbling issues, and last played in November.

He found a new home, and we'll see what kind of a role he'll play with the Ravens. We wish him the best in whatever role he's given.
