Jim Harbaugh Details Emotions Behind Returning to the Chargers
The Los Angeles Chargers have released another epic welcome video for new coach Jim Harbaugh on Monday. The video flashed through clips of Harbaugh's time as a Charger, coach of Michigan, coach of the 49ers, and Justin Herbert and Keenan Allen.
The video also showed clips of Harbaugh sharing more insight into why he chose the Chargers while donning the Chargers powder blue.
"Every job I've taken, at every step of the way, there was a connection there for me. Coming back to the Chargers, the sincerity, it was there," Harbaugh said. "It just felt like home when I came here. It's gonna be a team -- think of a family. There's gonna be ignitors, there's gonna be leaders by example. That's mostly what I do. We're gonna attack 'em with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind."
"And this is where I want to be. Nowhere else"

There had long been rumors about Harbaugh returning to the NFL during his time at Michigan, and the coach had options. Harbaugh interviewed with the Minnesota Vikings back in 2022, before they hired Kevin O'Connell, and Harbaugh also garnered significant interest from the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers in recent years.
However, Harbaugh wanted to coach the Chargers, where he played from 1999-2000. As for leaving Michigan to return to the NFL, Harbaugh explained his desire to compete for a Lombardi Trophy and win the Super Bowl.
The feeling is mutual for many Chargers fans and the organization, who felt Harbaugh was the top option for their next coach after Brandon Staley. With Harbaugh in tow, the Chargers are hopeful they'll finally become a winner.
