Charger fans, your franchise quarterback just got paid, and he got paid in a big way. Los Angeles Chargers franchise quarterback Justin Herbert signed an extension with the Bolts worth five years, $262.5 million, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

This deal ties him up to the franchise through the 2029 season.

It was evident this deal would get done; the only question was 'When?' Well, today, we got the answer.

Herbert has been a revelation for the Chargers since the departure of Philip Rivers, and he immediately showed he will be the franchise QB for years to come.

In three seasons, Herbert has thrown for 14,089 yards, 94 touchdowns, and a rating of 96.2. Herbert was the first domino to fall between him and Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.

Burrow's camp will now try to break the bank for their quarterback. Nonetheless, Herbert more than deserves the money, and we're happy the two sides finally got it done.

He will now go into camp with new money and help lead the Bolts to new heights. The pressure will be at an all-time high for the Chargers and Justin now. We'll see how he handles it this upcoming season and beyond.
