NFL Analyst Argues Ezekiel Elliott's Fit with Chargers
The Los Angeles Chargers still have their star running back, Austin Ekeler, on their roster. We're not sure how long that will last, but hopefully, he plays out the final year of his four-year deal. Nonetheless, there is a possibility he could be traded before the start of the season.
If Ekeler is no longer on the team, the Chargers could look at former All-Pro running back Ezekiel Elliot. Elliot has been linked to the Chargers for some time now, and he could be a good piece with the Bolts.
Many seem to think so, including NFL analyst Andrew Cooper who believes the former Cowboy could be a good fit for Los Angeles.
"The Los Angeles Chargers, they have Austin Ekeler for pass downs. They've been trying to find guys to be the big goal-line type back. They tried Larry Roundtree and Joshua Kelley it hasn't worked out. I think Zeke Elliot that's a perfect landing spot for him."
Zeke could be a massive help for the Bolts if they pick him up. The Chargers ranked in the bottom half at 18 in red zone scoring. They were successful 54.5% of the time, and a couple of non-playoff teams were ahead of them in that category.
Elliot had a down year in 2022, rushing for a career-low 876 rushing yards, but he was still a touchdown machine. In 15 games, he still scored 12 touchdowns while splitting time with Tony Pollard.
The 27-year-old is still a force to be reckoned with inside the red zone, and he can still pick up much-needed yards in crunch time.
