Potential Chargers Star FA Target Continues Workouts with Former Teammate in Offseason
The Los Angeles Chargers had quite the free agency and draft in 2023. They've added a ton to their roster and are set to compete in the juggernaut AFC. It won't be easy, but the Chargers have all the tools to be among the best teams in the league.
The Chargers came close to losing their star RB Austin Eekler earlier this offseason when he requested a trade from LA. Ekeler will be here to stay, at least for one more season, and his loss would have hurt the Chargers' chances to win this season. We're happy to have him back, but what if they can bolster the running back room with an All-Pro running back?
The Dallas Cowboys released former All-Pro running back Ezekiel Elliot in mid-March, and he has yet to sign with a team. The Chargers have been linked to him, but he seems to miss his old teammate and friend, Cowboys QB Dak Prescott.
The two were caught working out earlier this week, and Prescott expressed how they'll always be close regardless of whether they're teammates or not.
"That’s my best friend," Prescott said. "We’ll continue to work, continue to push each other. He looks great. I’m excited for whatever opportunity he has coming up, and I’m always his biggest fan."

The relationship they've built over the years and the ups and downs they've gone through will always be there. It's nice to see them working together and bettering themselves.
Nonetheless, it's a shame that a team has yet to sign Zeke. The Chargers haven't had a reliable RB2 in Ekeler's tenure as a Bolt, and Elliot would thrive in that role. He virtually played that role last season, splitting a ton of time with Tony Pollard.
When Elliot was released, the Chargers opened as the favorite to land the three-time Pro Bowler with +275 odds, according to Oddschecker. We haven't heard anything on the Zeke, Charger front, but there is still a ton of time for LA to add some reinforcements, and Zeke could be that guy.
