Week 6 Preview: Chargers vs. Cowboys Matchup Breakdown

We should be in for a good one on Monday!

As the Los Angeles Chargers come out of their bye week, they are greeted by a team that will be desperate to redeem themselves from this past week. The Dallas Cowboys got destroyed on Sunday Night Football against the San Francisco 49ers, so this week will be a 'get right' game for them, or at least they will try to have it be one.

The Chargers come in with a record of 2-2, while the Cowboys sit at 3-2 on the season. The Cowboys season has started strangely, but they pose many challenges for this Bolts team. Their defense can be one of the best in the league, and they will make life tough for quarterback Justin Herbert and the offense.

They can get to the quarterback and cause pressure in the backfield, which should hinder the Chargers running game. So, the Bolts may need to rely on quick-strike offensive plays to avoid significant issues in this game. They will need to establish the running attack early to help set up the passing offense; otherwise, it could be a long game for LA.

Defensive edge Micah Parsons may be the best in the game, and he can wreck the game completely. The Chargers will need to make sure that they look for him at all times, and the offensive line will need to play their best game this season.

For the Bolts defense, they will need to make sure they know where #88 is at every second in the game. Receiver CeeDee Lamb is a game-changer, and he has the ability to make the Chargers lives miserable, especially if their secondary has any more injuries to it.

He has been upset about his lack of touches recently, so the Cowboys may look to feed him the ball in this one. The Bolts secondary will be tested early on in this matchup, and unless they show they can limit this passing attack, things could get ugly.

The Chargers have played down to their level of competition so far this season, but they can't afford to do that in this game. Dallas is a good team and will make them pay if they don't come prepared.

It will be a good challenge for the Bolts to open the schedule after the bye week, but it could also be a trap game. LA knows that the Kansas City Chiefs await them next week, and that is a game everyone has had circled on the calendar.

If the Bolts can start fast and set the tone, they should be able to win. If not, they will fall to 2-3, and their season could be on the ropeDon'tn't forget to join our community at LA Sports Report, where we celebrate all things Chargers!
