New Heights: KC Chiefs TE Travis Kelce Gives Latest Update on Taylor Swift Relationship

On the latest episode of New Heights, Kelce discussed Swift attending the Chiefs' Week 3 game and shared his thoughts on the weekend.

The Kansas City Chiefs blew out the Chicago Bears en route to a 31-point victory in Week 3, and a special someone was in attendance to watch Travis Kelce play.

Spotted alongside Kelce's mother, Donna, singer-songwriter Taylor Swift was in a suite at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday to see the star tight end play. In the hours following the game and the Kelce-Swift duo leaving the stadium together, Kelce saw a huge spike in social media followers and jersey sales. The story is no longer a local sensation — it's sweeping the nation.

Kelce remained quiet about Swift coming to the game... until Wednesday morning. On a new episode of the New Heights podcast with his brother Jason, Kelce broke his silence and thanked Swift for coming to the game. Citing it as a "ballsy" and "impressive" move on Swift's behalf, Kansas City's All-Pro tight end was pleased with how Sunday went:

"Shoutout to Taylor for pulling up. That was pretty ballsy, that was pretty ballsy. I just thought it was awesome how everybody in the suite had nothing but great things to say about her — the friends and family. She looked amazing, everybody was talking about her in great light. And on top of that, the day went perfect for Chiefs fans, of course. We script it all, ladies and gentlemen. It was just impressive, it was impressive."

Kelce, who admitted that he's seen paparazzi outside his home since the Swift dating rumors began, didn't confirm nor deny that the two are in a relationship. The 33-year-old has witnessed a serious influx of attention in recent weeks, going from 'just' an NFL star to the talk of pop culture. He and Swift riding around Kansas City in his car added fuel to the fire, and Kelce doubled down on being glad things unfolded how they did:

"It was absolutely electric. To see the slow-motion chest bumps, to see the high-fives with mom, to see how Chiefs Kingdom was all excited that she was there, that shit was absolutely hysterical. It was definitely a game I'll remember, that's for damn sure. And then we just slid off in the getaway car at the end, I took my Chevelle to the game. You already know, having fun flying around [and] breaking all the speed limits in that thing. Shoutout to Taylor for coming through and seeing me rock the stage."

Now that the cat is completely out of the bag, Kelce knows this spotlight isn't going away anytime soon. He also acknowledges that he chose to embrace it — this is his life now. As folks continue to keep track of this situation involving two of the best at their respective crafts, Kelce hopes there's a level of respect maintained moving forward:

"Well [for] one, I know I brought all this attention to me. I'm the one that did the whole friendship bracelet thing and told everybody how butt-hurt I was that I didn't get to meet Taylor. You miss 100% of the [shots] you don't take, baby. What's real is that it is my personal life, and I want to respect both of our lives. She's not in the media as much as I am doing this show every single week and having fun during the NFL season on other guys' shows like the McAfee Show and any other show that I go on from here on out. Like you said on that Thursday night game, I'm enjoying life and I sure as hell enjoyed this weekend. Everything moving forward, I think me talking about sports and saying 'alright now' will have to be, kind of, where I keep it."
