Chiefs' Divisional Round Playoff Matchup vs. Bills Officially Set
The original story from Sunday night continues below.
The Kansas City Chiefs advanced to the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs with a win over the Miami Dolphins on Saturday. Now, the Chiefs know when they'll play next weekend — depending on who wins on Monday.
The Pittsburgh Steelers will play the Buffalo Bills on Monday at 3:30 CT after the game was postponed due to extreme weather in Buffalo. If the Bills beat the Steelers, the Chiefs will travel to Buffalo to take on the Bills at 5:30 p.m. CT on Sunday, January 21. That game would be broadcast on CBS. If the Steelers win, the Chiefs will host the Houston Texans at 3:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, January 20. That game would be broadcast on ESPN/ABC.
The Texans also punched their Divisional Round ticket on Saturday with a dominant 45-14 win over the Cleveland Browns to kick off Super Wild Card Weekend.
If the Chiefs travel to Buffalo, they'll have a chance to avenge their 20-17 loss to the Bills suffered in Arrowhead in Week 14. If the Steelers win and send the Texans to Kansas City, the Chiefs' defense will get its first look at rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud.
The Chiefs would end up with two extra days of rest over Buffalo, and the Chiefs seemed to escape their Wild Card game injury-free, as head coach Andy Reid did not disclose any injuries in his postgame press conference.
Rookie wide receiver Rashee Rice appeared to be injured at one point along the sideline, but he returned to action and said he was all good after the game.
"I’m fine," Rice said. "I just tweaked it on the sideline. There’s a lot of dirt over there and the dirt is really hard from the cold weather. It’s all good."
