Anthony Richardson’s Agent Provides Update After Surgery

The agent of Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson tweeted an update of the rookie's progress since his surgery.

It will be a long road back to full health for Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson. But he's taken the first step according to his agent.

Richardson's agent, Deiric Jackson, wrote on Twitter that Richardson completed his first day of shoulder rehab on October 26.

"Great 1st day of #PhysicalTherapy for QB1 on the road back to greatness!" Richardson's  Appreciate Dr. ELAttrache who has ben great and by Ant's side every step of the way."

This tweet came two days after Colts owner Jim Irsay also provided a positive update on Richardson's injured shoulder.

"Anthony Richardson's surgery today in LA was a success! It was a long procedure and his shoulder injury has been repaired," Irsay wrote on Twitter. "Anthony is doing well and thanks everyone for the support."

Richardson suffered a Grade 3 AC joint sprain in his right, throwing shoulder against the Tennessee Titans in Week 4. About a week and a half after he sustained injury, the Colts and Richardson elected season-ending surgery to fix the issue.

That decision was obviously a huge disappointment for Richardson, the Colts and fans. But the organization is rightfully making his long-term health the top priority.

With any luck, Richardson will be healed in time so he can be a full participant in offseason workouts. That will allow the quarterback, who is super athletic but still raw as a passer, to take the next step during his second season.

That rehab appears to already be off to a great start.

Richardson finished his rookie season with a 59.5% completion percentage, 577 passing yards and 3 touchdowns with 1 interception. He averaged 6.9 yards per pass.

He also rushed for 136 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Gardner Minshew has assumed the quarterback duties for the Colts without Richardson. Indianapolis sits at 3-4 heading into a pivotal matchup with the New Orleans Saints in Week 8.
