New Commanders Sale Timeline Revealed; Bezos Still in Running?

Jeff Bezos hasn't placed a bid for the Washington Commanders, but could he still purchase the team from Dan Snyder?
In this story:

The long-anticipated target date to sell the Washington Commanders at the March owners meetings has come and gone ... and Dan Snyder remains the owner of the franchise.

Snyder still plans on selling the franchise, but who will he be selling it to?

According to Front Office Sports, Josh Harris remains the frontrunner after bidding $6 billion for the franchise alongside fellow investors Magic Johnson and Mitchell Rales.

However, Canadian billionaire Steve Apostolopoulos also reportedly submitted a $6 billion bid and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is still in the running.

Per FOS, Bezos met with Snyder a few months back over the holiday season to possibly purchase the franchise. As the third-richest person in the world, Bezos has the potential to outbid the Harris and Apostolopoulos bids and could wager slightly more than $6 billion to drive the price up further and seal the winning bid.

If Snyder is playing the waiting game to see if Bezos will drive up the value of his franchise, it is certainly working.

The owners are meeting once again on May 22, another potential target date for the sale to be put up for a vote. Whichever person acquires the Commanders will need three-fourths majority from the 32 owners to approve the sale.
