NFL Mock Draft: Texas RB Bijan Robinson to Commanders?

The Washington Commanders could add some "offensive excitement," with the addition of Texas running back Bijan Robinson.

Some players are an exception to rules and team needs.

While many people believe that running backs shouldn't be drafted in the first round, Texas running back Bijan Robinson may be the one to buck that notion.

In The Athletic's seven-round mock draft, the Washington Commanders took the consensus best running back in the draft with the No. 16 pick

"Running back isn’t a glaring need on the Washington roster, but the chance to add a premier playmaker like Robinson would be tough to pass up," The Athletic writes. "For an organization ready to trot out Sam Howell or Jacoby Brissett at quarterback, Robinson would bring some offensive excitement for the fan base and new ownership."

While the Commanders took running back Brian Robinson Jr. in the third round of the 2022 draft, a talent like Bijan's may be too good to pass up. Bijan ran for 1,580 yards and 18 touchdowns in his junior season as a Longhorn in 2022.

In the second round, The Athletic had Washington taking Georgia cornerback Kelee Ringo.

Ringo, who has been projected to be a first-round pick in many mock drafts, has had two interceptions in 2021 and 2022.

Another eye-catching draft pick was LSU wide receiver Kayshon Boutte in the fifth round. Boutte had 48 catches for 528 yards and two touchdowns in 2022.

Here's a full list at the Commanders' seven-round mock draft ...
