Commanders RB Brian Robinson Jr. Approaching 'Breakout' 2023 Season?

Washington Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr. could be poised for a big year in 2023.
In this story:

A lot has been made about Washington Commanders' quarterbacks Sam Howell and Jacoby Brissett and who will be under center on Sept. 10 against the Arizona Cardinals

Regardless of who is guiding the offense, Howell or Brissett will have Washington running back Brian Robinson Jr. to lean on. After a solid rookie campaign, Yardbarker tabbed the second-year running back as a potential breakout player for next season.

"Much of the focus this offseason has been on young quarterback Sam Howell, but new offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy's addition could help Washington's running backs even more," Yardbarker writes. "The former running backs coach will lean on Robinson, who improved as his rookie season progressed after recovering from a gunshot wound just before Week 1."

Robinson missed the first four games after being shot twice in the lower body. He appeared in 12 games in his rookie campaign, running for 797 yards and two touchdowns. Robinson also saw his production increase as his season progressed, as he ran for at least 86 yards in five of his last seven games.

Will a full offseason to recover and a seemingly improved scheme with the addition of Eric Bieniemy as Washington's offensive coordinator, Robinson may become the guy that carries the offense.

If Robinson can take on that role for a whole season, Washington's offense may be poised for a huge jump.
