The Washington Commanders are narrowing down their coaching search, and it appears that Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson is the favorite at the moment.

However, ESPN insider Adam Schefter shared that he doesn't believe that's the case on the "Pat McAfee Show."

"I'm not convinced yet that Ben Johnson is getting the Commanders job," Schefter said. "People think Ben Johnson is going to Washington and Dan Quinn is going to Seattle ... I will bet you at a minimum that one of those isn't right and maybe both."

Johnson is one of several finalists for the Commanders head coaching job in a group that consists of Baltimore Ravens coaches Mike Macdonald and Anthony Weaver, as well as Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn. Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn is also expected to interview with the Commanders again.

The Commanders are the only team with a coaching vacancy other than the Seattle Seahawks, so there isn't a major rush to get it done ... unless both teams want the exact same candidate.

Commanders Hire Johnson? 'Sold!' Says Insider

With both Washington and Seattle able to hire any of their candidates at any moment, the search could end shortly ... as early as this week.

Johnson, along with Glenn and Quinn, are expected to interview with the Commanders on Tuesday.
