Commanders Draft TE Dalton Kincaid as QB Sam Howell New Weapon?

For all of the talent the Washington Commanders have at the skill positions, they have one glaring need they have to address in the 2023 draft.
In this story:

Few teams need to address the tight end room more than the Washington Commanders. And in NFL.com’s most recent mock draft, they have the Commanders address the need by taking Utah tight end Dalton Kincaid with the No. 16 pick.

“When healthy, Kincaid can do it all,” NFL.com writes. “Washington's new offensive coordinator, Eric Bieniemy, knows a thing or two about utilizing the position, given his history in Kansas City.”

In his senior season, Kincaid had 70 catches for 890 yards and eight touchdowns. His receptions and receiving yards were career-highs. Kincaid has 16 career receiving touchdowns at Utah, which is 10th all-time in program history.

Kincaid played for San Diego University in 2019 and 2020 and caught 19 touchdowns.

Does that add up to making him Travis Kelce, the brilliant tight end who stars for the Chiefs, Bieniemy's last employer? Of course not. But this is a tight end-rich draft ... and Kincaid is universally seen as one of the "riches.''

Logan Thomas was Washington’s leading tight end with 39 catches for 323 yards and one touchdown in 2022. Between Thomas, John Bates and Armani Rogers, Washington’s tight ends combined for 495 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

The tight end room needs a complete revamp in Washington. If they want to set up new coordinator Bieniemy and quarterback Sam Howell for success, someone like Kincaid should be hard for the Commanders to pass up.
