Commanders' Josh Harris Reveals 3 Top Priorities
There's a lot on Washington Commanders owner Josh Harris' plate as he begins his tenure leading the franchise.
The list of ideas and implementations for Harris and his ownership group is likely very long, but the Commanders owner was able to simplify the list during his introductory "pep rally."
"It's about how the city feels about all this stuff," Harris said. "And like I said, our priorities are: we’ve got to get ready for football season, we’ve got to improve the existing fan experience, and we’ve got to get out in the community. We're going look at everything and see where we are."
Harris, who grew up in Chevy Chase, Maryland, is the new managing partner for the Washington Commanders after purchasing the franchise from Dan Snyder for $6.05 billion, a move that became official at last week's owner's meetings.
After years of struggles both on and off the field, Harris hopes to bring some hometown glory back to its football team.
"This franchise is a part of who I am and who I became. It's part of my DNA," Harris said. "But I appreciate that it's not just about being a fan. I feel a tremendous sense of responsibility to this city to win championships, to create a positive impact on the community, and to create great experiences and memories for future fans, just like I had growing up as a kid."
Harris hopes that, with his guidance, he can reinject some enthusiasm in the Commanders fanbase.
