Commanders DB Kamren Curl Makes NFL Top 100 List

Washington Commanders safety Kam Curl has made the NFL's Top 100 players list.
In this story:

Washington Commanders safety Kamren Curl is slowly getting his feet underneath himself at the NFL level. After three seasons, Curl is starting to become one of defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio's defensive centerpieces.

After not making the list last season, after Curl's exploits in the previous campaign, he has now been rewarded with a place on CBS Sports' top 100 players list.

But where exactly? Curl comes in at No. 85 as he gets due reward for being a solid contributor on defense.

"Pay attention. This kid has developed into one of the best young safeties in the game. He's good in both the run and against the pass," CBS Sports writes.

Among Washington's positives from a season that promised so much yet delivered little was the defense's performance. By season's end, the Commanders had the seventh-ranked defense in the NFL for points allowed (just 20.2 points per game), with Curl being a reason why.

Paired at times with youngster Darrick Forrest, they formed a good partnership last season. Curl had a good season by any metric, despite only playing 12 games. He finished the year third for Washington in combined tackles (83), second in solo tackles (58), ranked fifth for tackles for loss (6), and registered one sack.

Entering his fourth year, if Curl continues to produce at the level he has, then one could easily see the young safety higher on this list come the end of next season.
