Washington Commanders' Ron Rivera 'Believes' Team Has Mindset to Finish Season Strong
There isn't much to get excited about for the Washington Commanders as they sit at 4-9 on the season and are coming off another beatdown, this time, at the hands of the Miami Dolphins.
With the once-promising season now dead in the water, attention could be turning to next season, but there are still a handful of games remaining...and this is where head coach Ron Rivera is watching intently.
As the Commanders only have four games remaining on the schedule, which includes the San Francisco 49ers and the Dallas Cowboys, Rivera believes that the team has the mental fortitude to not let the season end with a wimper.
“Well, I'd like to believe so," Rivera said. "That's basically what the talk was about was, and I told you guys that yesterday in the press conference, that that's what I told the guys, we've got four left. I expect everybody to be a professional show up, and do their job.”
The Commanders have been through a tough stretch over the last few weeks, as the offense has failed to score more than 19 points in their last three games.
Washington also had eight turnovers during those three games as the offense hit the skids. Sam Howell, who is still learning the position, has been a bright spot, but overall, the Commanders have underwhelmed.
For Rivera, things can be changed offensively going forward.

“Well, there are some things that most certainly can be changed, and then there's some things that just continue to work at it and get better at it," Rivera said.
Up next for Washington after its bye is the resurgent Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium, and the mental fortitude Rivera "believes" will carry the team through is about to get a serious test.
