Commanders 'Underappreciated' WR Terry McLaurin Projected 2023 Team MVP

Commanders receiver Terry McLaurin is perhaps the team's best player, with NFL.com listing 'Scary Terry' as a candidate for Washington's MVP award next season.

Fans will be hard-pressed to find a star receiver who is underappreciated more than Washington Commanders star Terry McLaurin.

After three consecutive 1,000+ receiving yard seasons with a revolving door of quarterbacks (none of which are elite by any stretch), McLaurin has done well with the limited service he has had.

Such has been McLaurin's success given the revolving door of quarterbacks; NFL.com has listed McLaurin as a potential Commanders MVP candidate for next season.

"He's one of the most underappreciated players in the league right now, having logged three straight 1,000-yard seasons despite Washington's revolving door at the game's most important position, NFL.com writes. "It's like vintage Allen Robinson, where McLaurin's production is all the more amazing when you consider the number -- and caliber -- of quarterbacks delivering him the football. Can Howell-to-McLaurin become the connection that sticks?"

With Washington, for some, taking a risk with second-year quarterback Sam Howell, the offense led by Eric Bieniemy could be up and down next season. But not McLaurin.

Regardless of who is throwing him the football, the former Ohio State star has made plays consistently. No less than 70 receptions, 1,000+ yards, and four touchdowns in three consecutive seasons paint the picture of an elite Pro Bowl receiver.

While McLaurin might not get the plaudits of some of the more known receivers in the game, he is establishing himself in his own way, and Washington benefits from it.

The Howell connection will need to be on point from day one, and from all accounts, the second-year quarterback is off to a good start.

That, of course, is helped when you have a star receiver to make life a little easier.
