Bayless: Dallas Cowboys Are Better Than Philadelphia Eagles 'Top to Bottom'; What Skip Doesn't Know
The problem with reflecting on any analysis from Fox Sports' Skip Bayless - regarding "his team'' the Dallas Cowboys - is that he is a con man and a fraud who knows precious little about today's Cowboys and about football in general.
So when he indicates that he not shy about his trust and confidence in the Dallas Cowboys' roster when speaking of the matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, the smart viewer must understand that Bayless is simply trying to be a stir-it-up contrarian.
His brain contains no knowledge. His words carry no weight. So it is as a public service that we offer a disclaimer when is comes to noting that on his Friday morning episode of "Undisputed,'' Bayless asserted that when it comes to this "Sunday Night Football'' visit to Arlington by the Eagles, the Cowboys are "overall, top-to-bottom" the better football team.
"Dallas is simply better - overall, top-to-bottom - than Philadelphia," Bayless said. "I'm going to boil this way down to simplicity for you. We have the No. 1 offense in the league scoring the most points per game in the league against the defense that has plummeted to 24th in the league in points allowed."
Bayless used his segment as a time to compare how some of Dallas' greatest strengths on offense align with Philadelphia's greatest weaknesses on the defensive side of the football.
"We have the second-best offense on converting third downs," Bayless said. "Philadelphia's defense is dead last in stopping conversions on third down. That sounds like a mismatch to me."
One thing the Bayless show does offer: Some unvarnished truths about the Cowboys by a self-proclaimed homer in Michael Irvin.
He has predicted a win for Dallas on Sunday, guessing a 34-24 victory. His predictions are based on his belief that Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and receiver CeeDee Lamb are a No. 1-worthy pairing of offensive weapons.
"Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb are the best QB-WR combo in the NFL," Irvin said. "They have stepped up and stood out."
As the playoff picture is starting to become more clear as the weeks progress, a lot is riding on the Cowboys' matchup against the Eagles. The Eagles are currently the first seed in the NFC East division with a 10-2 record while the Cowboys are creeping up in second place with a 9-3 standing.
The game will kickoff on Sunday at 7:20 p.m. CT, and there will be great stock to take from the outcome. But be smart: Don't put any stock into what the con man Bayless is selling.
As we recently noted, "What Skip Bayless knows about the Cowboys and the NFL could fit into a pre-teen's jock strap.''
