'Be Conscious!' (and 'Cautious'?) Philadelphia Eagles vs. Dallas Cowboys Game Plan Key Revealed
The Philadelphia Eagles may have escaped with a 28-23 win over the Dallas Cowboys earlier this season, but the Cowboys are out for revenge and are undefeated when playing at home this year ... all of which causes the "Sunday Night Football'' visitor to AT&T Stadium this week taking about a key to controlling the "Texas Coast Offense.''
Be "conscious.'' And maybe "cautious,'' too.
A lot is riding on Sunday's matchup as the Eagles are the current leader of the NFC East with a 10-2 record and the playoffs right around the corner.
In their previous matchup this year, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott was explosive on offense, completing 29 passes for a total of 374 yards and three touchdowns. Receiver Ceedee Lamb had a career-high game that matchup with 191 yards off of 11 catches.
In order to pull off a win on Sunday, the Eagles must contain the Prescott-and Lamb-dynamic duo. ... a pair Dak is labeling the "Conquerors.''
"They were extending the plays, and they were just free-styling and running everywhere," Eagles cornerback Bradley Roby said, looking back on the previous meeting. "So that's just really what it was, in my opinion, that Dak would extend the play and they would run another route and we would just not win on those routes."
Cowboys 'Trust': Dak & Lamb 'Special' Connection; Practice Injury Update
Eagles safety Kevin Byard mentioned that Philadelphia needs to be cautious of Dallas' offensive weapons and game plan.
"Simple things, just like being [as] deep as the deepest," Byard said. "When (Dak) does extend those plays, you don't want somebody to get behind you. So just being conscious of that, and also just making sure we're helping out elsewhere on the field. When guys uncover, being able to be the eraser when things like that happen."
The Eagles will match up against the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium in Dallas on Sunday at 7:20 p.m. CT ... with both teams "conscious'' of all that is at stake.
