Brady, Says Emmitt, Is 'God's Gift To Man'
FRISCO - Emmitt Smith, the NFL's all-time leading rusher and Dallas Cowboys great, has put into words a unique way of trying to get the sports world - well, really, all of mankind - to appreciate what Tom Brady is about to do in Super Bowl LV.
"This is a clear testament, and what people are looking at is God's perfection right in front of their eyes,'' Emmitt said. "And they're not appreciating it.
"I'm telling you, this is God's gift to man.''
Brady, still at the top of his game at 43, has certainly been a gift to his new team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as they prep to take on another (much younger) marvel in Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes?
But Smith says he's rooting for Brady.
"He's the GOAT, man. There's no question about it. He's the greatest of all time at that position," Smith said Thursday on "Shan and RJ'' on 105.3 The Fan, stressing how wrong it is when "all of the naysayers talk about (how Brady's success is due to (Patriots coach Bill) Belichick's system, it's the Patriot way ...''

Brady already has six Super Bowls from his time in New England and he's attempting to capture a seventh this Sunday. Emmitt says this isn't about age, though, or numbers. It's about something ... well, heavenly.
"Forget the age, it ain't got nothing to do with age,'' Smith said. "I'm telling you, this is God's gift to man. And man does not appreciate it until it's gone. His gift back to us is his performance over the last 20 years.''
