'Buridan's Ass Theory': Cowboys Stuck - And Starving - Between OBJ And DeAndre Hopkins?

The Cowboys are in the market for a receiver, and it seems that both Beckham Jr. and Hopkins want to call Frisco home. But will Dallas be paralyzed by indecision and thus miss out on both?

The Dallas Cowboys need receiver help for CeeDee Lamb, and two main options are currently being discussed. DeAndre Hopkins and Odell Beckham Jr

Both are the "playmaker with juice" that Stephen Jones stated Dallas is in the market for, and both are reportedly interested in calling Frisco home.

But...

Could Dallas be "paralyzed" in a sense over deciding between Hopkins and Beckham Jr. and thus miss out altogether?

A 14th-century French philosopher named Jean Buridan and his theory describes a donkey that starves to death when unable to choose between two hay bales.

In this context, it's the Cowboys with Hopkins and Beckham Jr.

Both fit what Dallas needs offensively. Both are attainable, and thus the paralyzing decision that is facing the Cowboys that could in theory see them miss out on both.

Several other teams are reported to have serious interest in both star receivers, so there are plenty of suitors for the pair.

Odell has reportedly had "positive" discussions with Dallas over a potential move, while Hopkins is still waiting for a formal approach from the Cowboys despite rumored interest. (Why is that? Our Mike Fisher below explains his "Cowboys Game of Chicken'' theory.''

Odell is a free agent, and no draft capital is required for the Cowboys to sign him, but Hopkins is still under contract for the Arizona Cardinals (two years). Thus, a trade needs to be facilitated.

Beckham Jr. is seen as the "easier" deal to get done due to Dallas not needing to give up anything for his services, but his reported $20 million APY demands are rather steep.

But for many, Hopkins is the better receiver and is slightly cheaper (averages $17 million APY in final two years of his contract). So which way will Dallas turn?

It's a paralyzing decision that, if not made, could leave the Cowboys offense starving for receiver help when two stars are there for the taking.
