Cowboys Announce Key NFL Dates: Oxnard Camp & More

It’s time to take a look at the Cowboys NFL calendar, which has now been officially been revealed. So … “Save the Dates!”

FRISCO - The 2023 season for the NFL and the Dallas Cowboys is … essentially here.

As CowboysSI.com was first to report, the Cowboys will be traveling to Oxnard for the start of training camp with a reporting date of July 24 - with what we’ve come to call “The Glory Hole Press Conference” featuring team owner Jerry Jones likely slated for July 25.

All of this is part of the ramping up to the Cowboys visiting the New York Giants for the 2023 season opener. … but there are milestones needed to get there.

So, it is time to take a look at the NFL calendar, which has now been officially been revealed. So, it is “Save the Dates!” time as we walk you through them …

July 17: The deadline for franchise tagged player (in Dallas’ case, Tony Pollard) to sign multi-year deal.

July 24: The Cowboys depart for training camp in Oxnard. (CowboysSI.com will as always arrive in conjunction with the team).

August 12: Preseason opener - The Cowboys play host to the Jaguars (6 p.m. CT).

August 19: Preseason - The Cowboys visit the Seahawks (9 p.m. CT.)

August 26: Preseason - The Cowboys play host to the Raiders (7 p.m. CT).

August 29: Cutdown Day: The deadline to reduce roster size to a max of 53 players.

August 30: The claiming period for waived players ends (11 a.m CT).

August 30: Practice squads can be established to a max of 16 players.

2023 Regular Season - September 10: Season opener - The Cowboys visit the Giants (7:20 p.m. CT) and CowboysSI.com will be there. See the full Dallas schedule analysis here.

October 31: The NFL trade deadline (3 p.m. CT).
