Get Over’ It! How Cowboys' AT&T Stadium Changes Betting Odds
It's a good thing that the infamously bloated scoreboard at AT&T Stadium is so big- it's perhaps one of the few stadiums in the NFL capable of holding its also-bloated numbers.
A study from BetMassachussetts.com ranked most of the league's 30 stadiums and their likelihood to hit the betting over and the Dallas Cowboys' Arlington home places third on the list. Stadiums that opened in the last five years (i.e. Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas and SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles) were exempt from the data.
With the compiled data dating back to the 2013 season, games at "JerryWorld" hit the over 54.71 percent of the time. Over the past decade, there have been 46 hits, 38 misses, and a single push.
AT&T Stadium fell just short of second place, beaten out by Caesars Superdome in New Orleans (47-38, 55.29 percent). Ford Field in Detroit is the winner in a relative landslide at 59.15 percent (48-33-1). Nissan Stadium in Tennessee is the top-ranked AFC team (43-37, 53.75 percent) while Buffalo's New Era Stadium (49-39-1, 53.41 percent) rounds out the top five.
It's perhaps no surprise to see the Cowboys' dwelling so highly. The top three stadiums are either indoor (Detroit/New Orleans) or equipped with a retractable roof, such as the one in Arlington. Dallas consistently boasts one of the most potent offenses in the league and that trend continues to this day with the upper portions of the depth chart still featuring the services of CeeDee Lamb, Tony Pollard, and Dak Prescott.
Dallas also features some consistently powerful divisional opponents: they'll welcome in the defending Super Bowl finalist Philadelphia Eagles, featuring MVP contender and franchise quarterback Jalen Hurts. If he ends his holdout, running back Saquon Barkley will also come by when the New York Giants visit on Nov. 12. Other offensive superstars set to come by during the upcoming season include Aaron Rodgers (NY Jets), Cooper Kupp (LA Rams), and DK Metcalf (Seattle).
