'Best Leader Ever!' Cowboys Dak Prescott Praised By Coach Kellen Moore
Kellen Moore may not be at the forefront of the Dallas Cowboys offense anymore, but the coordinator still has major love for his former signal-caller Dak Prescott.
“The best person. I think the best leader I’ve ever been around, easily and, in all honesty, player or coach or anything,” Moore said on the The Season with Peter Schrager podcast. “I think his ability to connect with a team in all spectrums is rare, and I’ve never seen it in any other way. His work ethic, his command, I think he’s incredible."
After starting off as a quarterbacks coach in 2018 before becoming offensive coordinator from 2019-2022, Moore led the Cowboys to one of the top scoring units in the NFL over his tenure - including the fourth-best last season.
And despite the two sides mutually agreeing to part ways in January and Moore now leading the Los Angeles Chargers offense, the respect he shows for Prescott is not going anywhere.
“We’ve all been through that Dallas journey," Moore said. "He has a phenomenal way of being able to deal with probably more than your average NFL starting quarterback. He handles it beautifully, and he’s certainly a guy you forever root for.”
As somebody who has been an NFL quarterback and with the pedigree of Moore, that level of praise should not be taken lately.
But with Prescott now surrounded by a supporting cast of Tony Pollard, CeeDee Lamb and Brandin Cooks, the eighth-year quarterback is ready to translate that leadership to postseason success.
