Cowboys WR Brandin Cooks 'Makes Plays Everywhere' Says NFL Analyst

Brandin Cooks is now a member of the Dallas Cowboys. And despite the stigma surrounding the amount of times he's been traded, one NFL analyst knows the type of player Dallas is getting.

Brandin Cooks was traded to the Dallas Cowboys from the Houston Texans in a move that brings much-needed firepower to coach Mike McCarthy's offense.

One issue some have is that Cooks has been traded four times. However, Dallas is getting a true No. 2 receiver to complement CeeDee Lamb, as the Cowboys likely don't care about the number.

Neither does NFL analyst Kyle Brandt, who picked Cooks as his option to be the most refreshing addition to the Cowboys roster.

"It is a rite of spring that Brandin Cooks changes teams, and then it's a rite of fall that he just shows up and plays ball, makes plays everywhere he goes," Brandt said on Good Morning Football. "He's not just average, he's excellent. Why does no one love him? Everybody likes him. I love him. I think it would be refreshing if it actually stuck."

Despite being in the league for nine seasons, Cooks has never been able to stay with a team for more than three years. He was drafted by the New Orleans Saints (2014-16) before spending one year with the New England Patriots (2017) and two with the Los Angeles Rams (2018-19.) He appeared in back-to-back Super Bowls before eventually joining the Texans (2020-22). The Cowboys hope that Cooks, who is yet to turn 30, can at least put together a few seasons of good production like he did when posting six 1,000-yard seasons in six of seven years (2015-21).

The talent is there. It's now up to quarterbacl Dak Prescott and McCarthy to get Cooks up to speed on the offense ... which has already started.

Prescott and Cooks have been training together in the "Dak Yard" at the quarterback's house, with the pair putting in the early work to get on the same page ahead of training camp.

Cooks already like what he sees from his new quarterback, calling him "special" throwing the football. While it's early and not a single down has been played, it looks like Cooks could making a lot of plays for the Cowboys next season.
