'Archer's' Aim: Can Cowboys' Brandin Cooks Make 1st Pro Bowl?

Can Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Brandin Cooks finally become a Pro Bowler playing for "America's Team''?

The Dallas Cowboys traded for veteran wide receiver Brandin Cooks, aka "The Archer,'' this offseason, and he's got credentials. But could his first season with "America's Team'' also come with his first Pro Bowl?

It may come as a surprise to you that Cooks, a receiver that's had at least 1,000 yards receiving in six out of the nine seasons he's played in the NFL - accomplishing the feat for all four of the teams he's been on - hasn't yet made a Pro Bowl team.

Cooks has been the leading receiver on his team in six seasons, going on a three-season run with the New Orleans Saints and New England Patriots from 2015-17, followed by two seasons with the Los Angeles Rams, where he had the second-most yards on the team. Then a three-season run with the Houston Texans, where he was their alpha regardless of how many games he played.

Now that "The Archer" is playing in a major media market with Dallas, his skills will be in the public eye regularly, allowing him to shine in front of audiences and prove that he's a player deserving of a Pro Bowl. So far in training camp, his connection with Dak Prescott seems as though it will be in full effect this season.

With the Cowboys, Cooks will be the wide receiver two behind CeeDee Lamb, whose 1,359 receiving yards were sixth most in the league last year. Assuming that Dallas asserts itself as a legitimate contender this season, if Cooks can get himself around 1,200 yards, 80 catches, and five touchdowns, he'll essentially be outperforming the production of division rival Terry McLaurin, a Pro Bowler with the Washington Commanders in 2022.

Keep an eye on Cooks in Dallas this season. If he continues to shine in camp, a productive season could be in store for him, finally earning him Pro Bowl honors.
