Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb Among NFL Elite? 'Oh, I'm There!'

Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb has no shortage of confidence coming off the back of his best-ever season and believes he's in the upper echelon of receivers in the league.

Confidence and swag are part and parcel of being a receiver in the NFL, but wearing No. 88 for the Dallas Cowboys, you need a little more than most.

The likes of Drew Pearson, Michael Irvin, and Dez Bryant all were famous for oozing that true No. 1 receiver confidence, and now CeeDee Lamb is starting to exhibit similar traits.

Coming off a career-best season, Lamb was asked if he sees himself in the upper echelon of receivers in the NFL, and he answered in the most No. 88 way possible.

"I’m there,” Lamb said with an air of confidence. “I’m there. I’ll show you.”

Spoken like a true No. 1 receiver. ... who, by the way, tells our Mike Fisher that he's not concerned with the new contract that he is eligible for.

"I’m out,” Lamb said to Fish on the subject of in-season contract concerns. “I’ve got a Super Bowl to win and touchdowns to catch!”

While it is all good and well to have confidence in your ability, but it must translate onto the field. Lamb will have his first chance to lay down an early season marker on Sunday night against the New York Giants, and it's something he can't wait for.

"Oh yeah it's exciting," Lamb said. "Can't wait to be out there battling with my boys. Last time we were out there (vs. the 49ers in the playoff loss), had a little bad taste in our mouth. So excited for the future, excited to be out there and show our new identity."

Lamb usually enjoys himself against the Giants, totaling 494 yards and two touchdowns from 37 receptions in his six career games against the "G" Men.

Last season, Lamb had 193 yards and a touchdown from 14 receptions in his two outings vs. the Giants. From Week 14 onwards last season, Lamb was good for either a touchdown or 100+ receiving yards a game as he grew into the No. 1 receiver role.

In his first season as a true No. 1, Lamb showed exactly why Dallas drafted him in the first round, and now, with the utmost confidence, the sky is the limit for what he could accomplish this season.

And he's ready to show that he belongs up there with the NFL's best...starting with ruining the Giants' season opener in their own building.
