Cowboys CeeDee Lamb Ready to 'Exceed' Expectations
Coming into last season, there were questions as to whether Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb could take over the No. 1 role from Amari Cooper.
Well, we didn't have to wait long to find out if he could, as Lamb ended the season with career highs in yards (1,359), receptions (107), and touchdowns (9).
But what are his expectations heading into Year 4?
“Looking to exceed, definitely,” Lamb said. “Whatever you seen, I’m looking to, I wouldn’t say double it, I’ll be more realistic, I’m looking to be better. [From] Catches to yards and touchdowns, so expect a lot. I’m going to do the best I can to improve as a receiver, to get open and do my job.”
At stages last season, the Dallas offense was Lamb or bust, and with that front of mind heading into the offseason, veteran Brandin Cooks was acquired via trade from the Houston Texans to form a formidable duo.
With Cooks having been around the league for nearly a decade, he brings with him vast knowledge that he can impart to the young receiver room in Dallas.
For Lamb, while he jokes about Cooks' age, he knows that he can learn a lot from what Cooks has been through throughout his career thus far.
‘"You know I’ll always bring up his years, I’m only in Year 4, he’s Year 10,” Lamb said with a smile. “I feel like the best teacher in life is experience, so everything that he’s been through, I’ll always ask him questions, just picking his brain. I’ve learned a lot of things on and off the field from him.”
With Cooks coming in to not only produce on the field, what he has been doing off it could be just as beneficial, and in Lamb's case, the want to always be better has never been stronger.
A big year incoming for No. 88? He seems hellbent on making it so.
