Cowboys Dak Prescott Will Never Win Super Bowl? ‘That’s Slander!'

The Cowboys are in the Super Bowl sweet spot, but there are doubters … simply because of Dak Prescott.

The Dallas Cowboys have a loaded roster and are in the mix as a genuine Super Bowl contender, but for some, the sole reason why the franchise won't hoist the Lombardi Trophy is … Dak Prescott.

Rarely is there a player who divides opinion as much as Dak, and when the conversation comes up about Dallas' chances at winning the Super Bowl, one default response is, 'Dak isn't capable.'

But NFL analyst Ric Bucher thinks that view of Prescott is unfair.

“Can he win one? Yes, can he lead them to one? I wouldn’t expect that of him,” Bucher said on FS1's Speak. “I’m looking at how the Cowboys are built, they have everything. All they need is for Dak not to lose the game. Do I think Dak Prescott is capable of not losing a Super Bowl and allowing the Cowboys to win one?

“Slander (to say otherwise)? I feel like it is.”

What we wrote on Prescott as a theme leading into the San Francisco 49ers game was, he can't be the reason Dallas loses. Unfortunately, he was. Had Dak produced an average performance and not produced two interceptions, the Cowboys would have likely won that playoff game.

But steps are being implemented to ease the workload and pressure on Prescott to throw Dallas to victory.

Head coach and now offensive play-caller Mike McCarthy is designing his "Texas Coast Offense” to be Dak-friendly. Short, crisp passes and big yards after the catch point to a scheme where Prescott is sometimes managing the offense, instead of having to carry Dallas to a win.

With an elite defense led by Micah Parsons and an offense with weapons everywhere, Prescott just has to make this Ferrari of a roster doesn't go off the road and into a ditch.

If Dak does that, there is no reason he can't be a Super Bowl-winning quarterback.
