'88 Club': Cowboys CeeDee Lamb Touted by Dez Bryant as 'Top-5 WR, EASY!'

Dez Bryant will have no issue picking CeeDee Lamb, the receiver who succeeded him in the Dallas Cowboys' brotherhood of No. 88, for his fantasy football team this season.

For Dallas Cowboys fans, Dez Bryant playing on the same team as CeeDee Lamb is literally fantasy football. It's an idea, however, that the retired Bryant is willing to entertain when it comes to playing the fictional game for points.

Bryant has an optimistic outlook when it comes to Lamb's fantasy football future. When a fantasy-centric account on Twitter asked if Lamb was capable of being a top-five receiver among drafters, Bryant emphatically declared that his successor in the blue and white No. 88 uniform is well-worthy and then some of a high pick.

"Is this even a question??? EASY," Bryant declared, capping off his post with a flexed muscle and rocket ship emojis. "88!"

The number's significance in Cowboys history needs little more elaboration, being the number worn by big-play targets Bryant and Lamb, as well as catchers that came before them like Drew Pearson and Michael Irvin. Lamb was personally bestowed the digits by team owner Jerry Jones upon his arrival as the 17th pick of the 2020 draft. He was the first to wear it after Bryant's eight-year term in Dallas ended three years prior.

Granted a chance to star as the Cowboys' undisputed top receiving option last season, Lamb earned a career-best 1,359 yards on 107 receptions, nine of which went for touchdowns. Even with Brandin Cooks coming over from Houston to help him out this time around, Lamb should nonetheless stand as one of the most potent big-play targets in the entire league. Dallas may need his offensive prowess if they plan to compete in the dangerous NFC East, which featured three playoff teams last season, including the Cowboys and the Super Bowl finalist Philadelphia Eagles.
