Cowboys' Pass-Rusher Signs Free-Agent Contract With Quinn, Commanders
The Dallas Cowboys' carnage continues, as just minutes after learning that running back Tony Pollard is leaving for the Tennessee Titans a key member of their defensive line rotation is also departing in free agency.
According to multiple reports, pass-rushing end Dorance Armstrong is "close" to a free-agent contract with the NFC East rival Washington Commanders. In D.C., Armstrong would reunite with former Cowboys' defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, who is now the Commanders' head coach.
The Buffalo Bills were also believed to be a suitor of Armstrong, 26, who produced 16 sacks the past two seasons in support of more high-profile stars Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence.
Can Cowboys Afford Dorance Armstrong?
He had a career-high 8.5 sacks in 2022, and he added 7.5 last season despite playing 97 fewer snaps.
Armstrong's departure is a sign of faith by the Cowboys in Sam Williams.
