Cowboys’ Jerry Jones Vs. Dan Snyder: 1 Last Washington Cheap Shot?

What does Cowboys owner Jerry Jones say now that he and the NFL owners have voted in Josh Harris for the Washington Commanders, thus saying goodbye forever to Dan Snyder’s “toxic” reign?

OXNARD, Calif. - Not long ago, I asked Jerry Jones about his relationship with Dan Snyder, with whom he’d shared a long-time mentor/pupil bond.

“It’s not lovey-dovey,” the Dallas Cowboys owner told me then.

And what does Jones say now that he and the NFL owners have voted in Josh Harris and his $6.05 billion bid to purchase the Washington Commanders, thus saying goodbye forever to Snyder’s “toxic” reign?

"A great day for the NFL," said Jones via NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

In the last year, in addition to Snyder being accused of sexual misdeeds in the workplace and financial misfeasance involving the other owners, Snyder allegedly claimed he had "dirt" on Jones - an effort to gain some sort of bargaining leverage with his partners who’d moved on him to the point Jones was conceding publicly  that Snyder was "not the most beloved guy around.”

It was clear from my conversation with Jones that his guiding hand benefiting Snyder would no longer be available. … and that soon enough, the Commanders would no longer be a available to Snyder.

Now along comes Harris, who playfully fired the first Cowboys shot by insisting that once upon a time the “Redskins,” not the Cowboys, were the NFL’s premier team.

That is a dubious claim. But if it rekindles an NFC East rivalry? I’m for it. And so is Jones. … as the Cowboys owner quipped that he looks forward to his team delivering "capital punishment" when Dallas plays Washington.
