'Real Lion!' Dolphins' Tyreek Hill Takes Friendly Shot At Dallas Cowboys' Micah Parsons

As Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons and Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill battle for the nickname of "lion," the latter took a friendly jab at the former on a recent podcast.

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons' affinity for lions is well documented, but another NFL star may have an even greater appreciation for the King of the Jungle.

Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill, who frequently goes by the nickname "Cheetah" due to his blazing speed, decided to instead channel another big cat. After a dominant performance against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 1, when he caught 11 passes for 215 yards and two touchdowns, Hill said, "Maybe I'm not a cheetah, I'm a lion."

Those remarks caught the attention of Parsons, who was none too happy with another player coming for his title.

“Tyreek, please never say you’re a lion again," Parsons said previously. "Just stick to ‘the cheetah’, brother. You don’t want nothing to do with this lion work. Please stay away from the lion. At least you did say you a baby lion, but then you would be a cub, brother.”

In turn, Hill did not take too kindly to being called a "cub." On his podcast, Hill issued a warning to Parsons, whom he will see on Christmas Eve when the Cowboys and Dolphins face off in Miami.

“Let me tell you something real quick, Micah Parsons,” Hill said. “When we play you December 25, on Christmas Day, I have a present for you, my boy. I’mma show you that game who the real lion is. I’m the cheetah and I’m the lion. I’m the real hybrid on the field, baby.”

Hill's remarks didn't seem malicious as he smiled while he talked, but it certainly made this mini feud more interesting.

While Parsons and Hill won't match up in coverage much, blocking may be a different story. Hill turned some heads during Sunday's game against the New England Patriots, when he blocked a defensive lineman to help Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert pick up a first down. He must've been feeling confident after that, because he also warned Micah to be careful of him blocking when they officially meet.

“I know you seen my little clip where I was blocking the D-end,” Hill said. “I’m big like that, so you better watch your back. You better watch your back because I’m going to blindside you.”

Hill has played against the Cowboys twice in his career, but both of those games came when he was still with the Kansas City Chiefs. In those two games, the speedy receiver has 11 receptions for 141 yards and one touchdown. In the most recent game, and only one where he played Parsons, Hill had nine receptions for 77 yards.

The Cowboys-Dolphins game may be more than three months away, but the rivalry between Parsons and Hill adds an extra layer of depth to the matchup.
