‘My Ankle Is Gone!’ Tyreek Hill Healthy For Future Dallas Cowboys Clash?

Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill's status for a Christmas Eve showdown against the Dallas Cowboys may be in doubt after suffering an ankle injury on Monday night.

The Miami Dolphins not only blew a late lead against the Tennessee Titans to lose in heartbreaking fashion on Monday night, but their best player got dinged up in the process.

Superstar receiver Tyreek Hill, who leads the NFL with 1,542 yards and 12 touchdowns through the air, suffered an apparent ankle injury in the first quarter of Monday's game. While he returned in the second half, he wasn't quite his usual self and finished with one of his least-productive outings of the season, catching four passes for 61 yards.

Despite the immense pain, Hill made the decision to stay in the game after a fateful text from his wife.

"When it happened, like my first reaction was like, 'Man, my ankle is gone!" Hill said. "My adrenaline kicked in, I ran off the field, then I sat for a while and it got stiff and I was going through a lot of pain. Then I just made up in my mind, I came in at halftime ...

"I texted my wife, I was like, 'This (bleep) hurt.' I need an ankle massage tonight, and she's like, 'You'd better get your (butt) back in that game, dawg.' I was like, 'All right.'"

While Hill returned to the game, his status for Sunday's game against the New York Jets is in question. More importantly, the Dolphins host the Dallas Cowboys for a pivotal clash on Christmas Eve, and Hill not being at 100 percent could have a major impact on the game. If Miami's offense struggled without a healthy Hill against a subpar Tennessee defense, going against a much better Dallas unit won't be any better.

'Real Lion!' Tyreek Takes Friendly Shot At Micah

Regardless of the extent of his injury, Hill will do everything he can to be on the field on Sunday, Christmas Eve and beyond.

"That's never something that I would be thinking about," Hill said. "But if the trainers come to me, if they see something in the scans whenever I get these scans, they say, 'Hey, 'Reek, you can sit out,' I do it. But me being me, I don't want to sit out. I want to be able to help this team any way I can, and that's just who I am. I just don't want to miss any games."

And based on that? 'Reek probably won't miss the visit from the Cowboys.
