Cowboys' Micah Parsons: 'MF'ing' Saquon Barkley Carries Giants Entire Offense

Dallas Cowboys "lion-backer" Micah Parsons knows a thing or two about what it takes to stop New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley.

The Dallas Cowboys know what it is like to have one of the league's top running backs on a contract year. First, they went through it with Ezekiel Eliott and again with Tony Pollard. Now, their division rivals, the New York Giants, are dealing with Saquon Barkley, who has decided not to sign the franchise tag that was placed on him.

Do the Giants give Barkley, fresh off a career year, a potentially market-setting contract, or do they try to move on?

As you can imagine, it has the Giants fanbase split; some want Barkley back, while others ... not so much. An argument broke out on Twitter this week where a pair of presumed Giant fans debated whether the former Penn State back was "wearing down."

The opposed pointed to the difference in the yards he rushed for in his first nine games and his last eight, using this as evidence that he was slowing down. This drew the ire of Cowboys lion-backer Micah Parsons.

“I mean yeah that’s what happens when you the best players on your team you idiot!!” Parsons wrote. “The scheme on Monday morning is we will not let SAQUON BARKLEY BEAT Us!! People just think we be out here playing free for all!! like gtfo! That mf is that offense! Pay him!”

Parsons speaks through two lenses, not only speaking up for a fellow Nittany Lion but also as an opponent of Barkley. Who better about what goes on in defensive meeting rooms ahead of playing the Giants offense than Parsons, who sees him two times a year?

Parsons has a point; the Giants' offense did run through Barkley as he ran for 1,312 yards and 10 touchdowns en route to a playoff appearance in New York. However, no matter how good of a game Barkley has, his presence is enough to have defenses focused on stopping him.

But in fairness to those skeptical of giving running backs big contracts, Barkley already possesses an injury history, and seeing the decline of other backs after second contracts should make anyone worried.

So ... the Saquon debate rages on ...
