'Tired!'? Cowboys' Micah Parsons Reacts To DeMarcus Lawrence's 'Burnt-Out' Comment

Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons believes the team should have shown more fire in the playoff loss to the Green Bay Packers.

The Dallas Cowboys are already under heavy fire after their latest playoff failure, and unfortunately, defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence recently poured gasoline on that fire.

Appearing on ESPN's First Take earlier this month, Lawrence said the Cowboys being "burnt out" was the main reason for the Wild Card Round loss to the Green Bay Packers. Considering that the Cowboys played the same number of games as every other team, and that the Packers took them behind the woodshed in that game, many piled on Lawrence for his answer.

Apparently, even those inside the organization weren't happy with the way "Tank" answered.

During a recent appearance on The Stephen A. Smith Show, star defender Micah Parsons said he expects his team to play with more fire in a do-or-die game. ... and objects to the idea that anybody failed to do so.

“What I feel like, once that regular season ends and they get in playoffs, you’re supposed to get rejuvenated,” Parsons said. “Like, this is a whole new me, whole new you. We need to get ready — and that’s part of that culture stuff that I was talking about, where I want to dive into the players that we gotta change. You should never go into a game like, ‘I’m tired. I’m ready to go home.’ Because that’s exactly what’s going to happen and it did happen.

“I’m coming to the game like, ‘I got four more weeks left. I don’t know what y’all got, but I got four more weeks left.’”

Our Mike Fisher has speculated that Lawrence "would like a mulligan'' here ... that he can't possibly have meant the comment as he delivered it. (Again, if Dallas was "tired'' in one playoff game, how did the Super Bowl champion Chiefs muster up the energy to play and win four of them!?)

There has been plenty of discussion about the Cowboys being "soft" or having a "culture issue." While Parsons doesn't think the problem is that severe, he is aware that change needs to happen.

With the hiring of new defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer, famously a disciplinarian, the Cowboys should be playing with a fire at all times. ... with "tired'' being a reason to be "fired.''
