'The Deep Water!' Cowboys Micah Parsons Issues Warning to NFL

Dallas Cowboys pass-rushing linebacker Micah Parsons has made no secret of his want to get better and has issued a warning for the rest of the NFL when they play Dallas ... be prepared to go the distance.

Dallas Cowboys defensive star Micah Parsons has never been shy about his willingness to get better as a player and his Super Bowl aspirations.

As the Cowboys get into the groove of training camp, Parsons, who has worked all offseason to add bulk to his frame to cope with the physical demands of playing primarily as a defensive end, has a stern and colorful message for opposing offenses next season.

Be prepared to go the distance against Dallas.

"Man, I'm ready to take everybody out into the deep water," Parsons said. "Everybody's comfortable when their knees are in the water, but I'm ready to go out into the deep water and I hope everybody's prepared to go out into the deep water. ...

"I just hope everybody's ready. You gotta see if they can swim. I'm gonna take them to an island.''

So what is Micah trying to say here? This is talk about conditioning, meaning when things get tough late in the game and a player starts to become worn down physically, can he maintain the same level of performance?

For coordinator Dan Quinn's defense, it goes as Micah goes, and for the two-time All-Pro, he thinks that this version of the Cowboys' defense has all the tools to break the now-infamous championship drought.

"Since my rookie year, we got thrown into the fire," Parsons said. "And we've gotten experience from tough games, playoff-level games, and I don't think there's a guy on our team that doesn't have postseason experience outside of the guys that just came in.

"We've got some elite guys with elite talent, and some have been to the [Super] Bowl and that have just been on playoff runs. I think we've got a great chance."

A great chance for a Super Bowl? It is possibly the best chance the organization has had in a long time, and Parsons could play a big part in bringing the Lombardi Trophy back to Dallas. ... by bring his Cowboys into the "deep water.''
