Micah Parsons Defends Cowboys New CB Stephon Gilmore, 'Violates' Commanders 'Stupidity'
Micah Parsons' blitzes apparently extend to the world wide web.
The Dallas Cowboys linebacker took down the fan of an NFC East rival on Twitter when the latter took aim at his North Texas teammates. Dallas adding Stephon Gilmore apparently doesn't faze Washington Commanders supporter "@Howell2McLaurin." The apparent believer in the Commanders' new offensive battery of quarterback Sam Howell and Terry McLaurin claimed the arrival of the former Indianapolis Colt makes the receiver "the first NFL player to have two of his sons on the same team!"
Accompanying the barb is a clip of McLaurin hauling in a catch over Gilmore that helped Washington set-up the game-winning touchdown in a 17-16 win from October.
Parsons, unmentioned in the virtual attack, wasn't going to let that stand ... and even his apparent friendship with McLaurin wasn't going to stop him from standing up for his fellow Pokes.
"I would violate you but I like Terry!!" Parsons declared. "He has nothing to with your stupidity."
Fortunately for Parsons and the Cowboys, no 15-yard penalty exists for "roughing the poster." It's not exactly clear which incumbent Cowboy the tweeter is referring to but that would take a relatively deep analysis to figure out: in seven meetings against the Cowboys, McLaurin has yet to record a 100-yard game and was held to 15 yards on a pair of receptions in the teams' October meeting. He fared better in the January rematch, picking up 74 yards on three catches, one of which went for a score.
Dallas has spent this offseason bolstering its secondary (and the Cowboys might not be done) with the addition of Gilmore while also retaining fifth-year safety Donovan Wilson. Ballhawk Trevon Diggs is likewise set to return, as is rookie standout DaRon Bland.
And of course, the Lion-backer stands tall in the middle of it all, ready to take on all foes ... on the field and on social media.
