Cowboys' Michael Gallup Reacts to Lack of Targets: 'Don't Matter To Me!'

The Dallas Cowboys have raced out to a 2-0 start to the season, but receiver Michael Gallup has been a bystander on offense. As it turns out, he's just fine with that.

Heading into the first week of the NFL season, the Dallas Cowboys offense was one of the most intriguing storylines, in part because of Mike McCarthy taking the play-calling duties, but also due to the weapons at Dak Prescott's disposal.

CeeDee Lamb, the newly acquired Brandin Cooks, and Michael Gallup, who is now fully recovered from his ACL injury, were deemed "the big three."

While Lamb has been superb (no surprises there), and Cooks has shown his home run speed (as he gets healthy enough to return for Week 3), Gallup hasn't seen much action at all.

But as it turns out, he is a true team player and isn't concerned with his lack of targets through the first fortnight of the season.

“Keep getting that W, it don’t really matter to me,” Gallup said. “Throw me the ball, I’m gonna make it right, if you don’t, and we still win? It’s good.”

So while some of Cowboy Nation is concerned with Gallup's targets or lack thereof, as he has only caught two passes for 13 yards so far in the season, as long as he is still doing his job and the team is winning, he is fine.

In fact, this is the first time in over a year that Gallup is on the field feeling like himself, and after an offseason of building up his shattered mental confidence, he is feeling like his old self again.

And as far as he is concerned, just being out on that football field each week is what it's all about for the former Colorado State star.

“I just enjoy being out there, haven’t been out there in a while,” Gallup said. “I just enjoy being back on the field. It’s been fun for me.”

With the Cowboys 2-0 on the season as McCarthy's "Texas Coast Offense'' gets its mojo working, Gallup hasn't seen much action. Part of that could be game situation or scheming during a game.

But if he isn't worried, then Cowboy Nation shouldn't be either. He'll get his chances. Let the cake bake.
