Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb 'Excited' About Contract Future in Dallas

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb posted 107 receptions, 1,359 yards and nine touchdowns in 2022. And a new contract is likely coming.

The Dallas Cowboys offseason has been filled with bringing back familiar faces while also addressing current holes on the roster.

Re-signing key defensive pieces Donovan Wilson, Leighton Vander Esch, Johnathan Hankins, and Dante Fowler to team-friendly deals, while also trading for cornerback Stephon Gilmore and receiver Brandin Cooks.

But the upcoming free agency cycles brings a new wave of expiring contracts in Dallas ... including two-time Pro Bowl wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and cornerback Trevon Diggs.

Lamb, the Cowboys first-round pick in 2020, recently had his contractual fifth-year option picked up - keeping him on the Cowboys until 2025.

Meanwhile, Diggs - the NFL's 2021 interception leader - is due up for a new contract next offseason.

Lamb spoke to reporters during the Cowboys 10th annual Home Run Derby about his future in Dallas.

“I’m very excited, Dallas is somewhere I’ve always wanted to be,” Lamb said Wednesday “I don’t see myself really wearing any other jersey. I don’t really want to get into too much detail on that, but I’m definitely excited for the future.”

CowboysSI.com has reported that the Cowboys are engaged in contract talks regarding Lamb.

“As we move forward that’ll become a bigger priority here as we move past the draft,” Cowboys COO Stephen Jones recently told us. “We’ve historically signed a lot of guys during that training camp period to extensions.

“But guys like CeeDee Lamb and Diggs are certainly on our radar in terms of guys that we’d love to have around here for another five, six years, whatever that turns out to be.”

With a promising young nucleus that also includes edge Micah Parsons, running back Tony Pollard and quarterback Dak Prescott, the Dallas front office will have decisions to make and who gets paid and who walks. But count Lamb for now on the “excited” list.
