'We're Best in NFC!' Cowboys' Micah Parsons vs. Eagles' Jalen Carter Trash-Talk Beef
Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons may or may not be fully aware of our exclusive visit with Philadelphia Eagles rookie Jalen Carter. But both noteworthy standouts seem to be getting accustomed to the idea of the bitter NFC East rivalry.
“I think we are the top team in the NFC,” Parsons said of his Cowboys while on 105.3 The Fan. “We’re the only team that gained players. We didn’t lose a Javon Hargrave (former Eagles defensive tackle) and then draft somebody (Jalen Carter). We have everybody across the board.”
Draft "somebody''? That hardly sounds like a Micah compliment ... and it comes just days after the Eagles’ No. 9 overall pick issued a statement in an exclusive interview with EaglesToday.com at SI.
“I’m ready to kill the Cowboys,” Carter said. “Everybody’s got beef. I might as well join the wave.”
As Parsons likely knows, Carter may be a rookie, but he's also extremely talented. However, he’s also considered the best defender in his class, much like the Dallas All-Pro was when he, too, fell in his draft, so could we be in store for two of the league's best defenders to also be playing in the same division ... perhaps.
While it will be tough for Carter to match the success Parsons has already had in his career - Micah became a Defensive Player of The Year candidate right at the start - these two young defensive pillars could be competing for the next decade, so fans might as well grab their popcorn and get ready.
On November 5, tensions could be at an all-time high as the Cowboys and Eagles face off in Philly for the first time this NFL season, allowing each team and pass rusher the opportunity to assert dominance over the other. ... and to transfer their "beef'' to the field.
