'Hit In The Mouth!' CeeDee Lamb Tells Cowboys Truth

'We Need To Respond!' CeeDee Lamb Tells Dallas Cowboys Truth On Miami Dolphins Visit And Getting 'Hit In The Mouth' As The NFL Playoffs Approach

The Dallas Cowboys need a response against the Miami Dolphins after getting beaten soundly by the Buffalo Bills ... and CeeDee Lamb knows it.

The Cowboys barely fired a shot in Buffalo as Josh Allen and James Cook and the Bills offense did as they pleased last Sunday as they racked up 366 total yards (266 rushing) as Dallas was beaten into submission.

But after that shot to the ego, now comes the chance to prove something.

“I feel like just knowing who you are as a team and knowing your identity and staying true," Lamb said. "Some things happen along the road in the journey ...

"It's all about bouncing back and just recovering and responding the right way.”

While "responding" and "bouncing back" are great ways to define what Dallas has to do, saying it and doing it are two very different things.

The Cowboys' challenge to bounce back will be a difficult one as they will come face-to-face with a Dolphins team that does two things extremely well (playing at home and running the football), and coincidently, those two things just happen to be what Dallas isn't very good at - stopping the run and playing on the road.

Miami is 6-1 at home this season, while Dallas is 3-4 on the road and the Dolphins are fourth in rushing yards per game (139.6) and lead the NFL in rushing touchdowns (26).

Furthermore, this game could have playoff implications as well. The magnitude of the game and what is in front of the Cowboys isn't lost on Lamb.

“Obviously this game has a lot of things riding on it, and we understand that,” Lamb said. “So, this is definitely a playoff-type of game ...''

And Lamb insists that's a good thing. Why?

"We don't want no walk-offs going into the playoffs and then go into the playoffs and get hit in the mouth,'' he said. "So I feel like this is a test for us and it's all on how we respond.”

The Cowboys will get a chance to "bounce back" and "respond" and "hit back'' on Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium.

'Track Meet': Cowboys Plan 'Fast Start' To Win at Miami

There are plenty of narratives surrounding Dallas right now and after the Buffalo debacle, they fit. But the Cowboys and Lamb can help change that by getting a road win against a genuine AFC and Super Bowl contender in the Dolphins.

The path forward is clear for the Cowboys against the Dolphins, and it's rather simple - just win and you will have "responded" in the correct way. ... by being the guy doing the punching.
